Jeffrey Scott Basham was born outside Chicago, Illinois, and raised in metropolitan Detroit.

Jeffrey Scott Basham received formal training at the California Institute of the Arts, receiving his BFA in 2013 and later attending The Groundlings School in Los Angeles. In 2018, Basham was admitted off the waitlist at The Juilliard School for their Master of Fine Arts in Drama but ultimately did not attend.

His first film appearance was in Gran Torino (2008) under the direction of Clint Eastwood. In 2011, he received recognition for his role in Haaris Baiig's lauded thriller Residual Imprint (2012). He has most notably worked alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins, portraying non-human creatures, usually via heavy make-up and visual effects for WestWorld (2017).

In 2013, Basham played 'Max' in Martin Sherman's BENT - which He also executive produced under the esteemed direction of Fran Bennett while at CalArts. The show received the diversity Grant and all other applicable institutional awards. Other regional theater credits include Hamlet in Hamlet, Marc Antony in Julius Ceasar, and Basham, who also directed a queer adaptation of the House of Yes by Wendy Macleod. Basham appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (2012) after a triumphant set at the world-famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood, where he would present the same set at Caroline's on Broadway in Times Square.

Jeffrey Scott Basham is also an accomplished producer, winning an International Emmy Award for Best TV Movie or Miniseries as part of the executive producing team for the French Drama "Don't Leave Me," originally titled "Ne m'abandonne pas" 2016. Basham speaks French fluently after being a foreign exchange student in France when he was 15. He would later work as a Model in Paris and other world fashion markets, eventually landing an exclusive fragrance contract with CK Fragrances and Calvin Klein Underwear in 2016.

In 2017, he appeared in several films, including Suburbicon, directed by George Clooney, with Matt Damon and Julianne Moore, and How to be a Latin Lover, directed by Ken Marino, with Eugenio Derbez, Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe and Raquel Welch. However, Basham's most memorable film experience was working with movement choreographer and motion capture artists Terry Notary and Andy Sirkus. Basham loved transforming and capturing visual FX using motion capture technology and how he was entirely transformed into a silver-back gorilla for War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).

In 2019, Basham would start Alchemy Motion Pictures, LLC which is in the business of developing, financing, producing, and distributing commercial film and television content worldwide and works in collaboration with other production companies, studios, and agencies in the development, financing, production, and distribution of film and television projects, and also intends to provide co-financing to projects through either equity financing, debt financing, subsidies, and distribution financing and a combination thereof of diverse and inclusive independent filmmakers and their respective endeavors.
